Warning To Residents As People Notice A Rise In Begging

• Dubai residents have started noticing more beggars approaching them on the streets.

• One Reddit user shared, “In the 3 weeks, I’ve been approached three times by people asking for money for food, or saying they lost their job and are desperate.”

• Several residents explained that this surge is typical during Ramadan. “Gangs actually fly in beggars to target areas during this time, especially around Eid,” one comment read. Another added, “In Ramadan, all the beggars start to show up everywhere.”

• During Ramadan 2025, Dubai Police arrested 222 beggars.

• Residents are reminded to always report beggars to the police instead of giving money directly, as many are part of organized networks.
