A Passenger Tried To Smuggle Dead Baby Bears Through Dubai Airport

  • Dubai Customs has stopped an attempt to bring rare and endangered bears into the UAE through Dubai International Airport after a passenger’s luggage was flagged during routine screening.

  • Officers detected unusual contents through inspection systems, leading to a manual search where they found a basket hidden inside the suitcase containing the animals.

  • During questioning, the passenger reportedly said she had received the suitcase in exchange for a delivery fee and was instructed to hand it over to another person after arrival in Dubai.

  • A duty veterinarian who attended the scene confirmed that the bears were already dead and identified them as a rare endangered species protected under international conservation regulations.

  • Officials also warned travellers not to accept unknown luggage or packages, as they can be used in illegal activities that carry legal consequences.

  • The case has now been referred to Dubai Police’s Environmental Crimes Unit for further legal action under UAE law.

PSA For Dubai Drivers: Don’t Turn On The AC The Second You Get In the Car During The Summer

  • And with temperatures climbing past 40°C, Dubai Police is once again reminding drivers about an important summer driving habit many people still overlook.

  • Always open the car doors or windows for a few seconds before turning on the AC. Why?

  • Well, when your car sits in the sun, it traps a whole lot of super-hot air and even some not-so-great gases from the interior materials.

  • If you immediately turn on the AC, you’re essentially just pushing that stale, hot, and potentially discomforting air around first.

  • This trapped hot air can actually cause dizziness and general discomfort, making ‘the heat feel harder to breathe in during the first few minutes.’

  • It’s especially tough on vulnerable passengers like kids, older adults, and anyone with respiratory conditions, who might experience sudden exposure to extreme heat more severely.
