223 Wild Animals Were Discovered In An Abandoned Suitcase Seized At Dubai Airport 😬

  • Dubai Customs intercepted an abandoned, unlabelled suitcase at Dubai International Airport that led to an unusual wildlife smuggling case 😮

  • During routine screening, customs officers identified suspicious indicators and decided to conduct a more detailed inspection of the baggage 🧳

  • Instead of clothing or personal items, the suitcase was found packed with live animals hidden inside 🤯

  • Authorities recovered a total of 223 animals, including 129 lizards, 36 scorpions, eight snakes and 50 frogs 😨

  • Officials believe some of the animals may be protected under international wildlife trade regulations governed by CITES.

  • Following the discovery, Dubai Customs worked with the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment to ensure the animals received proper care while legal and environmental procedures were completed ✅
