A Smuggler Used Dubai Airport’s Transit Zone to Run Cross-Border Drug Deals

  • A drug trafficker who believed Dubai International Airport’s transit zone would keep him outside the reach of law enforcement has been arrested following a 45-day surveillance operation by Dubai Police 👮

  • The suspect allegedly used the airport’s transit area as a base to coordinate international drug deals, believing he had found a loophole by avoiding formal entry into the UAE 👀

  • HOWEVER, Dubai Police’s Anti-Narcotics officers monitored the suspect’s movements, meetings and communications for 45 days before taking action. Officers waited until he moved to collect a hidden drug shipment in Dubai before arresting him 🚔

  • Dubai Police also urged travelers NEVER to carry luggage, parcels or bags on behalf of other people, regardless of the circumstances ‼️

  • Authorities warned that individuals could unknowingly transport narcotics or prohibited items and become involved in serious criminal offences without knowing the contents of what they are carrying 🙌
