Radio Presenter Kris Fade Carried His Clothes By Hand After An Australian Store Charged For A Shopping Bag

• Kris Fade is officially back in Australia for the summer… but his latest shopping trip did not go exactly as planned.

• A quick stop at one of his favourite stores turned into a full-blown battle over a $5 shopping bag. And Kris was ready to carry every single item himself rather than pay for it.

• Kris had just finished shopping at Universal Store when the cashier asked if he needed a bag. His answer was yes… until he heard the price.

• $5. Yep, just for the bag. Kris quickly did the Dubai math and pointed out that’s around AED 13–14. But the store apparently only had tote bags available, and Kris wasn’t interested in buying one he wouldn’t use. So what did he do? Picked up all his clothes and walked out. No bag. No regrets.

• While Kris was completely committed to his decision, his daughter was reportedly very embarrassed by the whole thing. But he wasn’t backing down. He kept insisting it was “out of principle” and that the store wasn’t going to force him to buy a bag.
