Authorities Clarify Why Emergency Alerts Are Sent To Some People And Not Others

• According to National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, these alerts are sent when the UAE Ministry of Defence confirms that air defence systems are responding to incoming missiles or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

• At the same time, NCEMA and the Ministry of Interior send out notifications advising residents and visitors to stay indoors and take precautions. Once the situation is under control, a follow-up message is sent confirming that it is safe.

• The national early warning system works based on geographic targeting. Alerts are only sent to areas that are directly affected, depending on the location, type, and scale of the situation ‼️

• In some cases, people nearby may still hear sounds linked to the situation, like reverberations, even if they don’t receive a notification.

• Not receiving an alert doesn’t mean something went wrong. It actually shows that the system is working as intended, sending messages only to the areas that need them, at the right time. So no, it’s not your phone. You’re safe. ❤️
