UAE President Names January 7 As Zayed The Founder Day
The UAE is adding a meaningful date to its calendar and its all about celebrating the man who helped shape the nation we know and love today!
President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed announced that January 7 will be marked as Zayed the Founder Day, honouring the legacy of its Founding Father, the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan
“The UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, forever remains in the hearts of the people of the UAE. As he led efforts to establish the Union, laid its foundations, and nurtured its development, his life and legacy were defined by his vision, generosity, and service to humanity,” he said in a post on X.
The occasion will celebrate Sheikh Zayed’s contributions to the country and the values that helped shape its development. Founder day will be celebrated to ensuring that future generations experience Sheikh Zayed’s legacy and the enduring legacy of the UAE under his guidance. The day is expected to be followed by initiatives for younger generations to engage in carrying along his morals.
The date carries a symbolic connection to the UAE’s history. The number seven represents the seven emirates that came together to form the Union, while 1971 marks the year the country was established.
