UAE Dairy Products To Become Less Sweet Starting September

  • One of the UAE’s largest food and beverage (F&B) manufacturers, Al Ain Farms Group, resolves to cut the percentage of added sugar by 10 to 20 per cent across its production, including Al Ain Farms and Marmum Dairy.

  • The move was codified in partnership with Healthy Living and Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, covering the broad dairy and beverage scene.

  • The group plans to roll out the first reformulated retail line in September 2026, when kids head back to school and parents hit the stores for refreshments.

An Indian Resident Was Murdered In Sharjah Following A ‘TikTok War’

  • The victim, identified as 40-year-old Ismail Ponnan Ibrahim Kutty, was a Dubai resident from Kerala who worked at a bakery. Reports suggest the incident stemmed from a dispute that began on TikTok before escalating offline.

  • According to Gulf News, citing the victim’s followers, Ismail had been involved in a verbal dispute with other TikTok users during a live broadcast on the platform.

  • The online argument allegedly escalated into a challenge to meet in person. Ismail reportedly asked the group to meet him near a park in Al Nahda, where he was later confronted by several individuals in the early hours of Sunday morning.

  • Witnesses reportedly alerted police and ambulance services after seeing the confrontation. Ismail was allegedly stabbed and attacked with sharp objects during the incident.

  • He was taken to Al Qassimi Hospital at around 8am but later succumbed to his injuries. Sharjah Police confirmed the incident and said multiple suspects have been arrested in connection with the case. Investigations are ongoing.
