The Next Total Solar Eclipse In The UAE Is 55 Years Away
The UAE missed out on yesterday’s total solar eclipse, which had skywatchers around the world LOOKING UP!
The eclipse was visible across parts of northern Russia, Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain.
Unfortunately for stargazers in the Emirates, the eclipse path did not come anywhere near the UAE. And the next chance to see a total solar eclipse from the country is still a very long way away.
The next total solar eclipse visible from the UAE is set to take place on September 3, 2081 — which means there’s a 55-year wait for the next one. Yep, that’s quite a bit of patience required. For anyone hoping to catch a total eclipse from the Emirates, this one is definitely a “future generations” situation.
The most recent solar eclipse visible from the UAE was a partial eclipse on October 25, 2022. It covered around 39 per cent of the Sun’s disc and lasted more than two hours, from 2:41pm to 4:54pm, peaking at 3:51pm.
