The Next Total Solar Eclipse In The UAE Is 55 Years Away

• The UAE missed out on yesterday’s total solar eclipse, which had skywatchers around the world LOOKING UP!

• The eclipse was visible across parts of northern Russia, Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain.

• Unfortunately for stargazers in the Emirates, the eclipse path did not come anywhere near the UAE. And the next chance to see a total solar eclipse from the country is still a very long way away.

• The next total solar eclipse visible from the UAE is set to take place on September 3, 2081 — which means there’s a 55-year wait for the next one. Yep, that’s quite a bit of patience required. For anyone hoping to catch a total eclipse from the Emirates, this one is definitely a “future generations” situation.

• The most recent solar eclipse visible from the UAE was a partial eclipse on October 25, 2022. It covered around 39 per cent of the Sun’s disc and lasted more than two hours, from 2:41pm to 4:54pm, peaking at 3:51pm.
