👀 An Autonomous Taxi Went Down The Wrong Side Of The Road & The Recovery Was Top-Tier Service

• If you live in Dubai, chances are you’ve seen, or even ridden in, one of the city’s futuristic autonomous taxis. For the most part, it’s like stepping directly into 2050: no driver, smooth navigation and peak high-tech living. But every now and then, technology hits a little bit of a sidequest moment 🫣

• It was all smooth sailing… until it pulled onto the wrong side of the road! Realizing something wasn’t quite right, the autonomous AI system pulled an immediate freeze and stopped dead in the middle of the road to recalculate. And because the universe loves dramatic timing, a bus pulled up directly in front of the vehicle, completely blocked from passing! 😫

• With a driverless car frozen face-to-face with a bus, the passengers did the only logical thing: They hit the in-car emergency button and called up customer service 🤙🏻

• And this is where Dubai’s world-class service truly showed off.

  Instead of waiting endlessly on hold, the remote support team jumped into action immediately, overriding the system and getting the vehicle safely back on track in seconds flat! 👏🏻

Dubai Property Buyers Are Still Ready To Buy, Even As Many Expect Prices To Fall

7 in 10 active property seekers say they plan to buy within the next six months, according to Property Finder’s latest Market Pulse.

Dubai’s property market appears to be showing an interesting split in buyer sentiment

Despite regional tensions returning to the headlines in August, 71% of active property seekers said they plan to buy within the next 6 months, up from 68% in July. But there’s another side to that confidence: around 53% of buyers still expect property prices to fall over the next 6 months.

That’s actually a notable shift from earlier in the year. In March, 73% of buyers expected prices to decline, meaning the share expecting a drop has fallen by around 20 percentage points.

So, What Are Buyers Actually Doing?

The latest numbers suggest that expectations and behaviour aren’t moving completely in sync.

Buyers may still be anticipating some softening in prices, but a growing share are signalling that they intend to make a purchase anyway.

Meanwhile, Dubai’s median property price per square foot edged up from AED 1,271 in July to AED 1,301 in August, according to the report.

That’s a monthly increase of around 2.4%.

August Put Buyer Sentiment To The Test

The increase in buying intent came during a month when regional tensions were once again dominating the news cycle.

Property Finder surveyed 4,113 active property seekers across July and August, tracking both whether they planned to buy within 6 months and what they expected property prices to do during that period.

The result?

More buyers are saying they’re ready to enter the market, even while a majority still anticipate that prices could dip.

In other words, buyers are watching the market closely, but they’re not necessarily waiting for prices to fall before making their move.
