Wreckage Of Cargo Plane Flying From Sharjah Found In Arabian Sea As Search For Crew Continues

  • A major search operation continues after the wreckage of the cargo plane that departed from Sharjah was found in the Arabian Sea 🌊

  • The K2 Airways Cargo flight was on its way to Karachi when it disappeared from radar on Tuesday night, prompting an extensive air and sea rescue mission. Authorities have now located the aircraft’s wreckage, but the search for the five crew members remains ongoing.

  • The Boeing 737 cargo aircraft had taken off from Sharjah and was heading to Karachi when it reportedly experienced a navigation system problem 🧭

  • According to Pakistani aviation authorities, the aircraft lost contact with air traffic control at around 9:21PM Pakistan time. Flight tracking data later showed the plane rapidly losing altitude, briefly climbing again, before descending for a second time 🛬

  • Air and sea rescue teams were immediately deployed to the area. After around 12 hours of searching, authorities recovered parts of the aircraft nearly 100 kilometres south of the Pakistani port city of Ormara 😔

  • Search efforts are still underway to locate the five crew members who were on board. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his condolences to the families of the crew, describing the incident as a tragic loss ❤️‍🩹
