Emirati Businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor Supports Shorter School Hours During Summer
In the wider region, Qatar has introduced shorter school hours from 7am to 12:30, and Khalaf Al Habtoor has called it a positive step, saying changes like this better support students’ wellbeing and daily routines.
Al Habtoor has weighed in on the topic, supporting shorter school hours during the summer and highlighting how extreme heat makes long days even tougher for students.
He stressed that education isn’t about how many hours kids sit in class, but the quality of learning and the environment around them.
In his tweet, he shared: “I firmly believe that children should not be burdened with long hours that exhaust them; rather, we must give them space to learn, to rest, and to grow naturally and in a balanced way… The issue is not time, but understanding, upbringing, values, and building the human being.”
