Emirati Lawyer Claps Back At Global Media Narrative Making Dubai Look Fragile

  • You know those headlines from western media about Dubai that make you do a major side-eye? Yeah, the internet has been seeing them a lot more lately since the regional uncertainty…

  • The Financial Times recently published a report titled ‘Half of Dubai is booking’: expats drive to Oman and Saudi Arabia to find flights out.

  • Prominent Emirati lawyer Dr. Habib Al Mulla led the charge in challenging this narrative.

  • His message to the Financial Times was blunt: “We didn’t forget.” Dr. Al Mulla argues that for four decades, international outlets have recycled the same narrative of Dubai’s “impending collapse,” yet the city has consistently proven its stability and resilience through every global challenge.

UAE Retains Its Right To Self Defence

  • The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a formal statement confirming that the nation has not altered its defensive posture despite being the target of repeated Iranian attacks.

  • MoFA reported that the UAE has faced more than 1,000 strikes since the recent regional escalation began.

  • 1,000 strikes is a figure the government stated exceeds the combined total of attacks directed at all other countries in the region. The UAE Armed Forces intercepted and neutralized these threats, which included 812 drones and 186 ballistic missiles, with what the Ministry described as high levels of professionalism and efficiency.

  • Additionally, the government called upon media outlets to uphold professional standards and rely exclusively on official, credible sources to avoid the circulation of inaccurate reports.
