UAE Strongly Condemns Bondi Beach Terrorist Attack At A Gathering In Sydney

• Two gunmen, a father and son, opened fire during a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday night.

• Officials say the attack killed at least 16 people aged 10 to 87, with at least 40 others hospitalised, some in critical condition.

• Ahmed al Ahmed, a 43-year-old Syrian-born, showed extraordinary bravery by wrestling the rifle from the attacker, saving countless lives.

• MOFA reaffirmed the UAE’s strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its firm rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten security and stability.

• The Ministry offered sincere condolences to the victims’ families and to the people and government of Australia, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
