UAE Rescue & Relief Teams Reach Flood-Stricken Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

  • The UAE Search & Rescue team has been deployed to Rambuk-ela/Vilanagama in Akurana, Kandy, one of the hardest-hit areas by Cyclone Ditwah 🌧️

  • Using specialized equipment and K9 units, the team has already located 10 victims and continue their search mission for the missing in coordination with the Sri Lankan authorities 🙌

  • The UAE sent rescue teams and 20 tonnes of aid to support Sri Lanka after the cyclone, which killed over 350 people and left hundreds missing 🆘

  • UAE President Sheikh Mohamed ordered a major humanitarian operation to deliver critical support after Sri Lanka was struck by “the largest and most challenging disasters” in the country’s history ❤️‍🩹

  • The relief mission is led by the Joint Operations Command and includes the UAE Aid Agency, Emirates Red Crescent, and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence 🚑

  • The UAE public were also urged to help with whatever little they can…whether it’s donating supplies or supporting the rebuilding of infrastructure, agriculture, and water supply 💛
