• What was meant to be a simple journey turned into a fight for survival when a long-time Dubai resident found herself buried beneath a collapsed building, just 48 hours after arriving in Venezuela

• Janet, who has lived in the UAE for nearly six years, was staying with her father in La Guaira when a violent earthquake struck the region

• In a matter of seconds, the entire building gave way, trapping both of them beneath heavy debris.

• For more than 18 hours, Janet and her father lay trapped under the rubble, waiting in the dark as rescue crews worked frantically to reach them. While emergency workers eventually pulled both survivors out alive, the ordeal left Janet with severe physical and psychological trauma.

• Desperate to return to the place she considers her true refuge, Janet is reaching out to the UAE leadership and the broader community for assistance in transferring her medical care back to Dubai.
