An Emirati Public Figure Shared His Take On Why More Marriages Are Ending
Emirati public figure Majed Alameri recently shared his thoughts on the growing conversation around rising divorce rates and the factors he believes are shaping modern relationships.
Alameri touched on several popular theories surrounding the rise in divorces, including changing gender roles and the influence of social media.
Some believe shifting expectations between men and women have changed the traditional dynamics of relationships, with women becoming more financially independent and career-focused, while others point to changing responsibilities and expectations from men.
According to Alameri, two major reasons stand out when looking at why more couples are separating today: a lack of patience and the masks people wear before marriage. He believes couples today may be less willing to work through difficulties, with problems often leading to separation instead of attempts to rebuild and find solutions.
He also pointed to the tendency for some people to present an idealized version of themselves before marriage, only for their true personalities and habits to appear later. This gap between expectations and reality can leave partners feeling disappointed and questioning whether they truly know the person they married.

This ‘Superpower’ Turned $2.95 Into $450M+
The Invincible #1 comic book sold for $2.95.* Then Skybound turned it into a show generating more than $450M+ in streaming revenue in just two seasons.
And it’s one of the longest-running animated series on streaming.
Most creators strike a common deal with studios: Give up their IP rights, arguably their most valuable asset, in exchange for production funding. Skybound Entertainment, the company behind Invincible, The Walking Dead, and more, didn’t go the normal route.
The result? They own the IP for Invincible, a #1 show on Prime Video for multiple seasons.
They’ve scaled their IP by creating an audience with the comics, grew it globally through streaming, and now, tapping into the $300B games market with the recently launched Invincible VS game.
